The energy landscape is constantly evolving, with climate change surging into the public consciousness. We wanted to shed light on the UK's energy sector and our progress toward finding viable alternatives to fossil fuels.
We built an interactive guide to showcase the various ways that the UK gets its energy, allowing readers to explore the subject effortlessly and at their own pace.
Our design approach meant we could present a large amount of detailed, complex information without overwhelming the audience with dense text. By layering information using buttons, we guide the reader through engaging, structured content while giving them control over their experience.
As with most of our projects, we began by organising the available information into a structured framework. This served as the basis for our initial concepts, which were then refined to create the final interactive user experience.
We always imagine we've got audience groups giving us 2, 5, and 10 minutes of their attention. It's our job to make sure each group gets maximum impact from their experience and they feel compelled to dig a little deeper.
